Where would you rather live?

Tonight, ladies and gents, we are featuring one of our guest bloggers! Please enjoy..

So I was asked by the Dating Aficionado to write a guest post about dating in Nashville. However, being in grad school severely limits your ability to date (not that I did much of it before for reasons that might provide a humorous post in the future). Nevertheless, I would like to pose a question to all of you.

I read this article today which lists the top 10 most attractive cities and the top 10 least attractive cities. Now this got me thinking. I recently moved from from #8 on the attractive list to #10. I'm not sure this is a good thing. For one, I didn't have much luck in Austin (#8) and so far have not had much luck in Nashville (#10). Is that due to all the hot guys and gals around me? Now I'm not implying that I'm ugly (because she definitely isn't - comment by dating aficionado). However I certainly don't think I'm contributing to the attractiveness level of these cities. But then would my dating luck change if I were to move to, say Memphis, which is #1 on the least attractive list? I'm not sure. Would I stand out like a gem, or blend in with all the other uglies?

And then you have to consider that the list isn't just talking about women. How would being in Memphis influence my selection? Sure, being shallow is bad and I should just look for a guy who is sweet, caring, blah blah blah blah, but let's be honest -- we want guys with the hot bodies right? (Uhm right!) Research shows that us women would all be happier dating a less attractive guy. What a bunch of hooey.

Anyway, I'm rambling now, but as you can see this one little list has brought up a lot of life or death questions. I kid. But seriously, I want to ask all of you, where would you rather live? In a city full of attractive people or in a city full of not-so-attractive people?

Until next time,
Not so much of a Dating Aficionado
